LOCALITY

GETTING HERE most major airlines fly into the International airport which is about 35-40 minutes drive from the villa, we will send driving instructions, along with the gate and house codes, after we have received full payment. We have used Airline Network on www.airlinenetwork.com  they often have deals on, although these are usually with indirect flights, if you need more information, please ask us. Charter flights usually go into Sanford which is about 1 hour away.
International Airport information 407-825-2355.      Sanford Information 407-585-4000.

CAR HIRE try to book car hire with an airport pick up point, this makes it so easy, you go down to the hall after collecting your luggage, go to the desk, pick up the keys and you are off!! Again we often use airline network, but do shop around as different companies have different deals on. Do not get talked into getting loads of extras at the airport, this can really bump up the price.

OUT AND ABOUT The Manors is off highway 27, about 3 miles from I-4 and 192. The nearest shops and banks to WESTRIDGE are at Berry Town Centre 1 mile down the road, there is also a large Publix supermarket and several restaurants plus a bar.  A little further down the road is a large pizza/pasta restaurant and within 6 minutes drive Cagan’s Crossing which has a Wal-Mart superstore, restaurants, shops and the public library, if you do not have your own computer with you they will let you have several sessions free of charge on the internet within the library.

LAKE LOUISA STATE PARK is about 10 miles down the road, it has trails, swimming and is ideal for a picnic, is cost around $4.00 to get in, per car,  on the way there is a pick your own citrus farm….great for the early morning orange juice.

Most people do come to Orlando for the theme parks, all of which can be found on the internet for details of tickets, opening times, etc, they do vary throughout the year so do check first. Some of the bigger rides have height restrictions; you may want to check before you go that everyone who wants to can get on. www.park-tickets.com will deliver your tickets to the villa and are reasonably priced, if you only want to go to the theme parks for a few days check direct with the parks as they often have good deals on for two day tickets.

If you tire (is that possible) of the theme parks Orlando/Florida has plenty to offer. You could treat yourselves to a hot air balloon ride, go to quaint Mount Dora and have homemade lemonade of the Lakeside Inn hotel verandah, then go to the dock and get a boat ride, there are often tiny baby alligators in the reeds!! There are lots of lovely craft shops here too. For a really relaxing afternoon or evening a trip to Bok Tower and gardens is just lovely, wonderful grounds and a working carillon. Many people forget Cypress Gardens which is about 25 miles away, but worth a visit if you want gardens and rides. Also Kennedy Space Centre is really worth a visit. Winter Park has the wonderful Charles Hosmer Morse museum of American art, with a large collection of Tiffany glass. There is also a park, lovely little restaurants and shops. An airboat ride at Boggy Creek is fun too….the list is endless!!!

For real SHOPPING enthusiasts there are several outlet malls, plus at Florida Mall hundreds of shops including JC Penny and Macey’s. There is a large food court there…remember your credit cards.

In the evenings, apart from relaxing by the pool, there are often firework displays at the theme parks, plenty of dinner shows, etc. There are too many things to mention here, but if you need information on a specific place we will be happy to try to help.
